Free software, plainly stated.

What this costs

Nothing. There is no purchase price, no subscription, no in-app purchase, no advertising, and no paid tier. Nothing is unlocked later for money, and no feature is withheld until you pay.

That is not only a pricing decision. The app is provided gratuitously, and under German law (§ 521 BGB) a gratuitous provider answers only for intent and gross negligence.

What you may do with it

Install and use it on the Macs you own or control, privately or at work, for as long as you like. Distribution runs through the App Store, so the licence you receive is Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement.

Not permitted: reselling it, distributing modified copies, presenting it as your own work, or reverse engineering beyond what applicable law expressly allows.

What is not promised

The app is provided as is and as available. There is no warranty that it is free of defects, that it suits a particular purpose, that it runs on every macOS version, that it will be updated, or that it will stay available.

One promise in particular is not made: that a proposed plan is the right one for your files. FILYXA proposes, you decide. No file moves without your tick.

Your files stay your responsibility

Keep backups. That holds for every tool that touches files, and it holds for this one.

The app never deletes. It moves, and what it cannot sort goes to the Trash, where it stays until you empty it. Every run is written to the journal and can be undone. But you approve each run, and checking the result is yours to do.

How far liability goes

Because the app is free, liability is limited to intent and gross negligence.

Untouched by that limit, and not excludable by anyone: liability for injury to life, body or health; liability under the Product Liability Act; and liability for a defect that was fraudulently concealed.

Beyond those cases there is no liability — in particular none for lost data, lost profit, interrupted work, or indirect and consequential loss.

Support and updates

Support is voluntary and free. Write to support@filyxa.com. Messages may be processed and answered automatically. If you reply to an automated answer, a person takes over.

There is no entitlement to a reply within a set time, to a fix, to an update, or to the app remaining published.

This website

No cookies, no analytics, no login, no tracking pixel. The pages are static HTML and store nothing about you.

The typefaces are served from this site itself, so no third party is contacted when a page loads. Nothing leaves this site.

Law and validity

German law applies. If you use the app as a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection of your country of residence is unaffected by that choice.

Should a single provision here be invalid, the rest stays in force.
